His wall of drawings at the Musée d’Art Contemporain as well as the series presented at the Sucrière drew significant attention. The galerie Polaris is currently showing his most recent series of drawings under the name of Faire tache.

This title refers to one of his latest series: Après vous (2012), in which we identify the figures drawn and the sketches outlined – half way between trivial and grotesque –, that are proper to Lhopital’s world. The series Strange wedding (2011) is also part of the exhibition. Silent and wild creatures made of graphite powder on papers put together wander about and confirm, as often seen in Christian Lhopital’s work, the breaking point between shape and shapeless.

Currently, a group of 42 drawings by Christian Lhopital can be seen in the exhibition Aire de Lyon — curated by Victoria Noorthoorn — at the Proa Foundation in Buenos Aires.
